Professional Decrepitude

This linking of two disparate words just can to me. We’re all aware of the other types: physical, moral, economic, etc., but the ongoing rush towards animatronic entities and their pseudo-brained ilk causes me pause. It begins, of course with the educational systems and the humans who support and populate those structures.

In amerika at least, most adults outside of these groups are aware of the dilution of reproducible intelligence. Course substance and structure, lowest common denominator teaching, grade inflation, and forced promotion are deeply intertwined with teachers, administrators, school boards, and financial flunkies.

So, morons beget morons beget morons. Not all of them. The majority percentage. The minority, ‘Them’, make up the leadership class. But on visual inspection, they’re hard to differentiate. And once in a position of authority, hard to remove. With the added negative effects of importing more of their ilk. (we don’t get to use the word ‘ilk’ enough)

If you, dear reader, are of the first order – why are you reading this? (How are you reading this?). Those of the second order are possibly wondering ‘ I’m surrounded/attacked by these cretins! What am I to do? ‘. Well, the obvious if not simple answer may be in treating the problem like a virus. Medicate, inoculate, or isolate. But this is a battle of the mind. We’ll need to find workarounds for the first two.

Medicate. Simple usage suggests some physical balm or other item. Remember, we’re dealing with the mind. To medicate the mind, you have to introduce ideas, preferably factual, that support the desired outcome. This also applies to the preventative inoculation phase. Yet this may not be enough. You can change some people’s mind, you can refute their opinions, but it is almost impossible to alter their beliefs. Fixing a present state may not be available or useful.

Similarly, inoculation – education from within the ‘body institutional’ is already affected. Two to five generations have compounded this problem. But there is pushback, similar to a body’s white cells fighting the infection. And those cells are under threat from systemic, organizational processes designed to hamper or dismiss self-healing.

Isolation appears to be the easiest method. It too, fights against the processes. Physical isolation is the obvious first – and incorrect method. This only creates an emotional, sympathetic martyr. But the other areas to be isolated are economical and social. Identify and remove funding that supports – even tangentially – those programs that promote decrepitude. Amerika is the most sympathetic country to donate to a cause, right or wrong. Amerika has also been taken advantage of because of just. Cutting off the money supply hits immediately, followed by social isolation (waah, you don’t give me money, we won’t play with you).

For lack of a better outcome, be as self-sufficient as you can. Don’t be in debt, as best as you can (and if you can’t, have a safe backup of funds, etc. when the stuff hits the fan. And quietly network. Let folk know what you’re capable of providing in bartering terms. This protects you against dependency on ‘professionals’.
