(You can probably figure out who, then.)
But I did work as an election officer! (first time) Which was a very cool and fun experience, except for a few voters who did a good impersonation of being an asshole – or they were assholes impersonating a voter. Tough call.
My coworkers were just as psyched to be part of the process. A couple were veterans in the precinct. And even with the experience, we still had to deal with about two dozen folk that either had to post a provisional ballot, go to their old precinct, one for getting bumped off the registration*, and one person who showed up five minutes after the polls closed.
* DON’T DEPEND ON YOUR DMV TO UPDATE YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION *
The people that thought they were clear, all of them had updated their licenses in only the last three weeks. Due to COVID shutting down DMV offices, even online updates weren’t getting processed. Personal note: I usually check my registration before voting at the voter website (trust issues). Nothing had changed.
So, an epilogue of sorts. (Could there be a third installment of ‘Dumb and Dumber’?) If there was some chicanery with the votes, we’d see either pure evidence, or certain people having untimely accidents. Instead, we see bureaucrats foot dragging; those not currently in the door, slavering at it. The ‘ins’ are quietly scrambling for either jobs or asylum. Liberals remind me of China, and ‘The Night Of The Long Knives’. It’s all smiles and beneficence now, but come Jan 21st, it’ll be interesting to see who gets subpoenaed.
And yet, at the end of this four-year experience, how many people from the previous administration were brought into court? Jail? Ze swamp, she iz still there! Will that be the public standard for President Harris’ administration? (Yeah, it’s going to happen. Make book on that.)
