Away from this blog, and I’m wondering if ranting about anything is worth it. (spoiler: there isn’t). But I came into this medium with no expectations. Consider the source – me.
Looking at the past months, and my interactions on social media, I’ve been self-censoring. Not out of fear of offending, but more of “I’m tired of trying to teach the pig to speak.” Fact: there are plenty of pigs (and weasels, and lizards, and politicians – oh, my!) orating incessantly for their topic of the day. Pro or con, doesn’t matter. Topics get air time or trampled in the dust.
*Now three months…
The world outside my door continues to entertain, like a slow motion train wreck. I visualize DJT as Gomez Addams playing with his trains, filled with his critics, then crashing them together. But then, Pete Buttigieg is no longer in office, so maybe no crashes/derailments.
For the amount of vitriol/manure slung by both parties, I have to note that, while continuing, it is now being done by third parties. James Carville (one of my favorite unhinged personalities) has been making the rounds. Earlier this century, there were all sorts of post-administration attacks on the Trump cabinet. After the present turnover, nothing. Not even sign-of-life reports of the past president. If that isn’t locked in proof of media bias, well, I’m not going to change your mind ever.
(returning to post on 19 May 25)
Are we any closer to a ‘night of the long knives’? I think not, but there’s more possibilities. Stirrings from FBI & DOJ suggest they’re starting with the low hanging fruit, maybe with hopes of turning states’ evidence on the big dogs. Although, none of the cases aim at the biggest dogs, so there may not be any convenient accidents or early deaths.
Away from the political infections, infrastructure seems to be gaining momentum. Too many FAA issues cropping up. Tornado season moving along. There were a few food recalls/scares earlier, but now that local farmers’ markets are running, shouldn’t see nastiness until September. Fire season will be average in late summer.
Ah! I forgot allergies. Everyone is complaining. I’m going to start using a mask, but I’m not optimistic. And the mosquitoes are after me again – after a few years of almost zero bites.
So, much ado about nothing. We’ll see what happens next.
