Well, almost. Ten days to go. Most (?) folk seem to be in a positive mood; could be the holidays, could be post-election coping. Always been a ‘Hey! Come back with my glass!’ kind of guy. So, while I can take pleasure from seeing others happy (pseudo-happy), I also stay aware that history repeats itself far too often.
Never attribute to malice what can be blamed on stupidity. Or something like that. In the potential upcoming purge of the ‘deep-state’, there’ll be lots of posturing, and calls to not throw out the baby with the bathwater. Good arguments pro and con. Mistakes will be made. Smart changes may not be readily apparent. Could state that ‘time will tell’, but also that history is written by the winners. And will be rewritten by le.
Going back to the first paragraph, I noted folk being more ‘Merry Christmas-y’. The opposite group (re: the down-with-conservatives-fluorescent-hair-orange-man-bad crew) are noticeably missing from public view. Reorganizing? Licking wounds? Dare I suggest becoming mainstream?
The yapping class (formerly known as the intellectuals) have already started the next round of propaganda, but they maintain their blinders on the body politic. That old saying, “You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all of the time.” The last four years have thoroughly proven the intellectuals are a) clueless, b) outright liars, and c) without shame or introspection.
