🎵 I’m A Travelin’ Man 🎵

Thoughts of a short journey, recently made:

I don’t give a damn what kind of fast food franchise you operate; if you only open your drive-through, you better provide access to your bathrooms. Please refrain from chanting covid. If you lock the doors for entry, I’ll start taking that as ‘we’re closed for any business’. Your franchises are not that important. There are your competitors and there are still plenty of mom & pop locations that will earn new loyalty.

An American observation (but applies to the English language world at-large); there’s not much originality to the naming of places, streets, etc. My route took me through various highways, suburbs, and business districts. Sometimes separated by hundreds of miles, or maybe only two or three, identical street and business (not franchise) names populate. Sometimes even with the same color scheme. It forces me to consider that maybe we are just clones in a universal experiment gone horribly wrong.

Drivers. You assholes know who you are. Please find a very high bridge and drive off it, without taking anyone with you. Your non-existent patience and level of self-importance are not worthy of our attention (except when we’re about to be murdered by you).

Drunk family fight night at the local cheap motel. Nuff said.

(Outside of my complaint mode) Respect for all the road maintenance crews! Even Connecticut. While nobody wants to pay the tolls, you can’t have good roads without them.

The service areas on the Jersey Pike! (I need to get out more) Completely redesigned from my last trip three years ago. Very posh. Less surliness from staff (visitors, a different story 😞). You are a customer, not the grand poobah.

Safe journeys, folk 🚗🏍🚲🚄✈️
