Not. And I’m talking about this new decade, not the aperitif we waded through. Now begins the crap entree. There were strong smells coming from the stewpot of the near future – most of us believed it was a backed-up sewer, or maybe some raccoons in an overturned garbage truck.
Lessee.
According to biblical sources, Egypt had experienced: water turning to blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness and the killing of firstborn children.
We had/have: coronovirus, impeachment, locusts (Africa only), Planned Parenthoodโข๏ธ, hyperkinetic re-entry weapons, media, and a general lack of common sense.
Just to be fair, we do get small, recurring events relatable to the biblical:
- Water to blood = oil/chemical/nuclear spills
- Frogs = ???
- Lice/flies= ticks, mosquitoes, disease vectors
- Pestilence = we’ve gone through some culling of domesticated animals in the past 20 years; mostly for disease prevention
- Boils = really don’t have anything, since boils were part of life in those grand antiseptic days
- Hail/darkness = another one solved by science (but there are groups that will fearmonger the ignorant)
Anything missing? Kinda quiet in your neck of the woods? Government taking care of you? A moratorium on violent dissent, or an inability to do so? I find it odd that, in the northern hemisphere, there’s only a smattering of examples (antifa, yellow vests, Hong Kong students). Each considered large – locally. But no centralized management. Have the globalists succeeded? Allow simple protests to vent youthful anger?
I, for one, am happy for the peace/armistice. For starters, I’m too old and feeble to play in that arena. Second, I’m not so old as to have forgotten history. Third, I see how youth have been pacified or at least marginalized by market and tech forces (why have a real revolution when you can play that game on your phone?)
So what, then. Does one fight the system, serve the system, join the system, or beat the system? The first two options have decidedly negative outcomes. Death, jail, or simply ignored. The last two have higher paybacks, but you have to calculate risk/reward vs. your lifespan. And you are permanently hooked into the system. Unless you’ve figured a way to become invisible.
Then, more power to you. ๐
